Privacy
Short version: your files are yours, we do not look at them, and they are deleted automatically.
What happens to your files
- Uploaded files and converted results are stored under a random name in a private folder that is not accessible from the web.
- Only the browser (or app) that uploaded a file can convert it or download the result.
- Every file is deleted automatically 60 minutes after upload. You can also delete a conversion immediately using the delete option in the app.
- Files are processed on our own servers. They are not sent to third-party services.
What we do not do
- We do not open, read, index, or analyse the contents of your documents.
- We do not keep copies after the retention period.
- We do not log the names of your files. Logs contain technical metadata only: a random job identifier, formats, sizes, timing and error codes.
Security scanning
Uploads may be checked by an automated malware scanner before conversion. A file flagged as malicious is deleted immediately and never converted.
Cookies
1Format sets one functional cookie containing a random identifier so that only you can access the files you uploaded. It is not used for tracking or advertising.
